Kind of nuts that I just left this for like 5 months. Like I paid $62.70 for a website that just had my name and that single write-up I did about the server setup. Well I'm back now and I've decided on a Git host.
I guess this is probably the first thing I should've looked into. I forgot to even initialize the git repository for the site content, so now my commits are all wack.
I'm feeling pretty lazy with this one, so I'm just gonna say right off the bat that I chose Codeberg to host my repository. I didn't want to go with GitHub because the vibes are bad (owned by Microsoft, training LLMs on repositories without explicit consent, etc.), so I looked through some alternatives. GitLab is pretty robust but vibes aren't the best since it's still owned by a for-profit company. I was mildly considering self-hosting an instance of Forgejo, which powers Codeberg, on my VM, but as I said earlier I'm feeling lazy, so I ultimately decided not to for now, but it'd be cool to try out down the line!
Hope it won't be another 5 months until I finish the next update to this website, but that's just life I guess.
